Program Type: Investor Awareness Program Attendees: 60+ Oriental College had invited Krisha Foundation to conduct an Investor Awareness Program (IAP) for the students of the College. In view of the Covid- 19 pandemic, Krisha Foundation was delighted to conduct a Virtual- Investor Awareness Program virtually on Zoom Platform for the Degree College Students of Oriental College on the 20th of December 2019 with the objective of creating awareness & educate the students on the basics of investment, difference between savings & investment, myths and realities of the securities markets, power of compounding, inflation, benefit of starting early, types of investments to name a few. The program inculcated among the students the habit of savings & investment planning by understanding their financial needs. The following are the details of participation at the event.
The event was very well received by all the participants & they thanked the volunteers and trainer for their effort. The trainer oriented the participants on the concept of Ponzi schemes and why such schemes which give you tempting returns should be avoided or well researched as something which is so tempting may be too good to be true. A Question & Answer round was conducted wherein the students asked questions such as Minimum amount for investment in SIP, What is NAV and can we change the nomination in mutual fund etc. Krisha Foundation was successful in creating a positive outlook towards money and money management.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks to Faculty, Dr. Vivek Gupta , the resource person for the session and the participants. The students and the faculty in- charge appreciated the warm hospitality and Krisha Foundation appreciated the spirit and enthusiasm of the participants to participate in the Investor Awareness Program.
Profile of the Trainer:
Dr. Vivek R. Gupta is Assistant Professor (Banking & Finance), Faculty in-charge for Placements and Research centre coordinator at the Vidyalankar School of Information Technology, Mumbai (VSIT). He has been working as an Assistant Professor for the last 08 years at VSIT. He has also worked for Max New York Life Insurance as Sr. Manager and Birla Sunlife Insurance Company as Sr. Unit Manager.
